Travel day, featuring the Vermonter Amtrak
planes, TRAINS, and automobiles
09/19/2017 - 09/19/2017
Heidi and I had a long day of travel, but the Vermonter made it worthwhile.
Our vacation technically started in Buffalo, NY to visit with family and friends.
The Vermont leg started off by flying into JFK airport, then taking the AirTrain and MTA subway to Penn Station in order to board the Vermonter.
Crossing 4 states (New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire) by land in order to finally reach your desired destination sounds a little crazy, but not when you love train travel!
While the effects of Hurricane Maria resulted in rainy and overcast conditions along the Northeast Corridor, we stayed dry with partial cloud and weather that continued to improve as we took in the views traveling northwest along the Connecticut River and fall foliage.
